ORDINATION OF BRAT MARIAN FOR THE DIOCESE OF THE MIDWEST

The Diocese of the Midwest has been blessed. BRAT MARIAN, who had been a monk of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church for many years, has been received into the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church - Canonical by Bishop Ioan, and will be ordained to the Minor Orders and to the Subdeaconate by Bishop Ioan on Saturday, May 28, 2005. He will be ordained a deacon in September of this year and will be assigned to hospital ministry to minister to the sick and dying and to nursing homes to minister to the old and their families.

Before entering monastic life, Brother Marian had been married and is the father of two sons and a daughter and has several grandchildren in the Wisconsin and Colorado areas. He has served in many ministries to the poor and disadvantaged and has assisted in Ukrainian Greek Catholic parishes in Milwaukee, WI and Denver, CO.
