On that day Patriarch Moses served the Holy Divine Liturgy dedicated to the holiday of Annunciation holiday that glorifies the day when Archangel Gabriel, the messenger of God appeared to Virgin Mary and announced the good news:
"Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you! You have found favor with God ... you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end ... The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy - the Son of God." (Luke 1:28-35)
So the salvation of the mankind began and the promise of God to send the Saviour was fulfilled, as on that day: "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us" (John 1:14).
During the Divine Liturgy, the faithful of our Salvation Church, as all good people on that day, brought their sincere prayers to Virgin Mary, glorifying her, striving for her blessing and protection.
Particular benevolence of Virgin Mary is to women who are longed for motherhood, keeping their bodies and souls in innocence and holiness. As only the clean vessel could be a habitation for a light soul, blessed by God from the Heaven.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy the Anointing took place that is aimed at the healing of spiritual and physical ailment through the applying oil on the faithful by the clergy and the prayer of church community. And those, who come for the anointing with the faith and sincere prayer, will receive the holy blessing of God for healing a soul and a body.
