27. THE SERMON OF PATRIARCH MOSES ON THE DAY OF THE HOLY TRINITY, 07.06.2009
Day of the Holy Trining
In the name of the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit!
Congratulations to You, dear brothers and sisters!
Today is the great Feast of the Holy Trinity, which is also called green feast by
people. So, during this holiday you may sanctify different herbs. We have got such
tradition, because when Christianity came to us, we had pagan faith and those old
traditions were intermingled with Christian holidays. And they influenced the
Orthodox Church so much that even clergy put on green frocks on this day, because
the herbs are green. And this feast is more dedicated to some herbs than to the
Triune God. God, Who is Light, Who is eternal life. And by such doings they make
very big mistake.
We sanctify these herbs that God could be present in our homes and help us through
these herbs. But the main point of this feast is that God opened people that He is
Triune that He is in His Son Jesus, Whom He loves and that He works through the Holy
Spirit. You must understand this.
We have read in the Gospel, that Jesus said: "it is to your advantage that I go
away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will
send him to you." (John åVÂ:7), that is the Holy Spirit, Which will teach you, which
will console. And tomorrow we are going to have the Feast of the Holy Spirit. And
today we should understand where the Triune nature of God is opened in the Gospel.
When Jesus took the Epiphany from John He dipped into the water like Son and came
out from water like the Lord, who should go and preach people about the nature of
God's Truth. So, when Jesus dipped into water, the Holy Spirit filled Him. That is
why He dipped young and came out like the wise old man - spiritual, strong, ready to
start His great serving to people. So, we are talking about the spiritual vision of
this event. It seemed He dipped into water like young man and came back also like
young man. But a lot of people heard the thunder in the clear sky at that moment.
And generally it is rarity in Jerusalem to see the rain. And they heard the thunder.
And more spiritual people saw that the sky was opened and very special light came
and filled Jesus, it looked like pigeon. And that spiritual people knew that the
thunder was not just thunder, it was God's voice. For example, it was said to John:
"This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased." (Mt. ÂÂÂ:17 ) And it was said
to Apostles on the Thabor mountain: "This is my Son, my Chosen One; listen to him!"
(Luke., Âå:35 )
So, in Him is My grace, good will for you, listen to Him, keep near Him when you
will be saved, follow Him. As the Solomon great wisdom says: "If you find the wise
man, haunt his doorway." Means: visit him very often. Because secular wisdom is very
unclear and follows the person into the dead end. And there is God's wisdom, which
follows you to God, to calmness, to balance, to all good in our life.
And God the Father says: "In Him, in Jesus, is my goodwill, my blessing, listen to
Him." Then you will get all, what you could not even imagine, but your soul wanted
those things which it had in the Kingdom of Justice, when it came from that place in
the kingdom of chaos, kingdom of evil, having embodied on the Earth. Did people
listen to Jesus? Only 12 Apostles, 12 shepherds followed Him, because they felt with
hearts that He came from God, that He knew something they did not know. Or even they
followed not only due to knowledge, but for that grace, which was always near Jesus,
because Angels came to Him on the 40ty day of His fast "And served Him Angels".
God's angels served Him that He could preach to people the Truth, in which people
should live to be happy. To be with God means to be happy, be without God means to
cheat yourself.
It is clear that we live in very deformed society, which has killed God in the
hearts of living people and in the hearts of those, who will be born. And it
continues doing so, substituting God with traditions, candles; forgetting about the
main point, understanding of what we should do to come nearer to God. The law on the
Earth must be God's one, which acts due to God's justice and God's mercy and then we
will feel good. But God's law does not work on the Earth, because we see how much
the state authorities and everything near it are corrupted. We see the bad people,
who do evil things and live almost happily. And we feel bad, we lose our faith and
we think that the entire world is the same.
No, we are not such people. Not the entire world is so bad, if we are not such.
Maybe somewhere there are people like we. They pray, like our faithful, in the
center of the city. Yes? They pray in Uzghorod, they pray in other cities, those
people who know us and love God. That ones, who want to change this world, to
choose the God's president to rule this country. That person, who could turn the
chaos in the harmony, could correctly use everything, what is needed: both power and
grace.
"This is my Son, my Chosen One; listen to him!" (Luke., Âå:35 )
God created the Universe in harmony, in calmness. Yes? And who can create something
better? What weather He gives us? It is not too hot and not too cold. He gives cold
weather, which we need too, to become hardened and to protect from different insects
and viruses. And He gives proper warm weather that the land could give the crop and
people can have a rest from cold weather. So it is not too hot and not too cold.
People destroy ozone protection, which was given by God. A little bit of knowledge
were opened to them and they destroy, flying by these planes. Even that air
freshener, which we use, also destroys ozone protection. The atmosphere is polluted
by exhaust gas of cars. All this destroys our Earth, which was created by God. God
created it, it is beautiful, perfect, with clear water and air. We, people, use the
nature very imperfectly and go to the end of existence on this land.
For when he received honor and glory from God the Father "This is my beloved Son,
with whom I am well pleased." (2 Peter Â:17)
So, if we listen to God, He will show us how protect this Earth, protect the
ecology. And first of all the ecology of the soul must be saved. The ecology of the
soul will give us the understanding how to bring up the youth, how to bring up the
new generation, that they do not suffer so much as we did, because they feel very
bad now. We were cheated by some Communist ideals and they do not have ideals at
all, they are lost and do not know whom to orient to.
One say: orient to Europe, the other: orient to something else. And you should
orient to Jesus. "Listen to Him." (Luke Âå:35) - God said. It was said by he, who
created the Earth and He did it good. So let's judge from doings of Our God. He
created the Universe; He continues to create the harmony. He suffers and loves us so
much that He gave His Only Son, that He could teach us to live in the harmony. And
evil power, which exists on the Earth, does not stand this Knowledge, it crucified
God's Son.
We see that some people, who serve devil, treat us with hatred. This shows that we
are the God's children, Lord loves us. "If they persecuted me, - says Lord, - they
will also persecute you" (John, åV:20). People must listen to God's preachers. No,
they persecute them in reality. "They will also persecute you." They will persecute
till that time when they come to the dead end and would not be able to overcome it.
And they will come to the dead end, they are coming now. "You great city, you mighty
city, Babylon! For in a single hour your judgment has come." (Revelation 18:10) And
Babylon daughter will fall down and they will not be able to trade or buy - as it is
said. And will scream: "Oh grief!"
"Help us, Lord!" Ii it so in the Revelation? And will tear up the body of whore and
will return to God. So, we see that the world is supersaturated with evil, all
temptations - all, what is in the world. And we understand that that time will come
very soon, because it is difficult to bear it all. As it is written in the Gospel:
it will be difficult to bear that all in the end times. Because that one, who will
turn to God will be saved, even if he only turn to God. Do you understand?
"This is my Son, my Chosen One; listen to him!" (Luke., Âå:35 )
So, let's listen to the words of Justice, which were given by Jesus. Because the
good will of Heaven Father is in them, that we could create harmonious happy life,
in ourselves and near us and in our Motherland. And help other countries, which live
without God. Because our country lives without Him, with Church, but without Him.
Because the Church lives without God. Do you understand what I am saying to you? If
we live with God, everyone could be the millionaire on such rich land. We are so
poor, because we live without God. Live and remember God's Wisdom: "There is no way
without God." Amen!
Apostle (Acts, 2:1-11):

1 When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together
in one place.
2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty
rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.
3 And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested
on each one of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to
speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5 Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from
every nation under heaven.
6 And at this sound the multitude came together, and they
were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own
language.
7 And they were amazed and astonished, saying, "Are not all
these who are speaking Galileans?
8 And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native
language?
9 Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of
Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,
10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya
belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome,
11 both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians--we hear
them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God."
Gospel (John, 7:37-52):

37 On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood
up and cried out, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.
38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, 'Out of
his heart will flow rivers of living water.'"
39 Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed
in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because
Jesus was not yet glorified.
40 When they heard these words, some of the people said,
"This really is the Prophet."
41 Others said, "This is the Christ." But some said, "Is the
Christ to come from Galilee?
42 Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the
offspring of David, and comes from Bethlehem, the village where David was?"
43 So there was a division among the people over him.
44 Some of them wanted to arrest him, but no one laid hands
on him.
45 The officers then came to the chief priests and Pharisees,
who said to them, "Why did you not bring him?"
46 The officers answered, "No one ever spoke like this man!"
47 The Pharisees answered them, "Have you also been deceived?
48 Have any of the authorities or the Pharisees believed in
him?
49 But this crowd that does not know the law is accursed."
50 Nicodemus, who had gone to him before, and who was one of
them, said to them,
51 "Does our law judge a man without first giving him a
hearing and learning what he does?"
52 They replied, "Are you from Galilee too? Search and see
that no prophet arises from Galilee."
